HTC Camera is the official camera app for HTC smartphones. All HTC devices come with this app preinstalled and ready to go. From there, users can access their device's camera and start capturing images or videos. A handful of editing features and filters are thrown into the app, and it's one of the better OEM camera apps. HTC included enough features and capabilities into this app to make it an excellent camera solution.

Upon launching the app, users can immediately capture an image with their smartphone. They can switch between images and videos or the front and rear cameras. Capture settings and filters are available before snapping a photo. After an image or video is taken, a user can then edit the media and apply various changes. A manual mode is included for more fine-tuned images and videos, and typical sharing features can be found, too.

Without a doubt, HTC Camera gets a lot of things right and a couple things wrong. The manual mode in the app doesn't let users customize every aspect of the shot. Users may notice that the app stutters and loads slowly on lesser hardware. Also, it doesn't help that the app isn't available in the Google Play Store. Only HTC devices come with this software, and that won't change anytime soon.

Android offers various third-party camera launchers. In the end, HTC Camera is an OEM option that trounces most third-party apps. The app remains a viable competitor against other first-party and OEM solutions, if not a step or two behind the best apps. Owners of HTC smartphones shouldn't experience any issues while using this app, though.
